2. Information we collect
- Enquiries & quotes: name, email, phone number and message details.
- Job applications: name, contact details, address, date of birth, National Insurance number, right-to-work status, SIA licence details, employment history, references, criminal-conviction declarations, CV and any documents you upload.
- Website usage: basic technical data such as your IP address and browser type (see our Cookie Policy).
3. How we use your data
- To respond to your enquiries and provide quotes.
- To process and assess job applications, including BS 7858 security screening and vetting.
- To verify your identity, right to work and references.
- To meet our legal, regulatory and contractual obligations.
4. Lawful basis
We process your data on the basis of your consent, our legitimate interests (recruitment and running our business), and to comply with legal obligations such as SIA licensing and BS 7858 screening.
5. BS 7858 screening
Applicants for security roles are subject to screening in line with the BS 7858 standard. This may involve verifying your employment history (typically covering the last five years), contacting your referees, and confirming your identity and right to work. By applying, you consent to these checks.
6. Sharing your data
We do not sell your data. We may share it with referees you provide, screening and vetting partners, and public authorities where required by law.
7. How long we keep it
We keep application data only as long as necessary for recruitment and legal/regulatory purposes. Unsuccessful applicants' data is retained for a limited period and then securely deleted.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your data, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email info@hhsafeguardingservices.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
